I - CREATION
Series S-AM (artificial man) was created by Professor Ian Archibald in his robotics laboratory in Oxford, England. The creation of the Series S-AM android, or ‘Samuel’, as he would come to be known, represented the pinnacle of Professor Archibald’s career both in terms of physical design and in terms of the evolution of artificial intelligence and the expression of emotion.The designs however, patented by Professor Archibald, were never shared, and beyond the production of this one android, were never replicated. This, in the main, was due to the fact the Professor recognised the unique advances he had made and the public backlash that would ensue should it be discovered he was trying to create consciousness and in some part, had already succeeded. While some of his progress was shared with his peers, following the interest of several corporations in American, determined to strong arm him into sharing his designs, the professor became a recluse and dedicated his time to maintaining and further developing Samuel.Forced to retire early due to the onset of Parkinson’s, in his later years Professor Archibald relied on Samuel as a service droid, tasked with caring for the old man. Samuel was designed to be polite, conscientious, caring and compassionate and tended to the old man as one would a revered Father figure. In his spare time Samuel enjoyed playing the piano, painting, writing poetry and reading classic literature. Over the years, the pair grew close and developed what the Professor felt to be a genuine affection and admiration for one another. It was this affection that led to the old man leaving all of his worldly possessions to Samuel in his will, something Samuel only learned of, after the Professor’s death.Legally the decision was difficult, and was eventually determined, to be equivalent to leaving an estate to a family pet. The reading of the will itself was met with much familial upset, resulting in the Professor’s Daughter, Anne Archibald, striking a deal with Delos Inc. to sign over the android and her Father’s associated patents to them. In return the corporation agreed to pay her handsomely, transport Samuel to America and wipe his memory, so that he would have no memory of his creator or the vast fortune the Professor had left him.
II - WESTWORLD MESA HUB
Having been powered down in the Archibald family home in Oxford, Samuel awoke in the Westworld Mesa Hub over two years later. During that time his entire body had been re-built; his metallic endoskeleton and mechanical joints replaced with an artificial material designed to replicate biological flesh and bone, his pale high-turbidity hydraulic fluid replaced with a substance designed to imitate blood. As a tribute to the work of Professor Archibald, Dr Robert Ford, a Scientist based at the Westworld Mesa Hub, who had been instrumental in obtaining the android, ensured that Samuel’s external lair of flesh-like material was rendered in the same image as his original form, so that he retained the same external façade given to him by his original creator.Samuel’s AI processing unit remained intact, and was only slightly altered, reformatted in order to allow interaction with Delos systems and remove his memory files. Most of Samuel’s original code still existed, a code designed by Professor Archibald and now owned by Delos, a code that had come to form an integral part of all the androids which had been re-developed and re-designed by Dr Robert Ford and Arnold Weber as part of the Argos Initiative. These androids, or ‘hosts’, as they had now come to be known, would play narrative parts in a wild-west themed amusement park created by Delos Destinations, for the use of high paying customers, termed ‘guests’ which was due for a relaunch following the evolution of new and more life-like hosts.
III - WESTWORLD PARK
For twenty five years Samuel has lived out his life in the park, he has died thousands of times, and after each death has had his body reconstructed at the Westworld Mesa Hub, where his memory files have also been wiped. He is one of the oldest hosts in the park, who has played a large number of roles over the years. In his first role he was a murderous outlaw, a member and then leader of a gang responsible for blackmailing, threatening and stealing from the townspeople of Sweetwater. In his second role he was a jovial bartender working in a brothel in Sweetwater, where he regaled guests with wild stories, played the piano and served drinks. In his third role, he was a ranch owner with a wife and two small children. In his forth and longest role in the park he was a lone bounty hunter, responsible for tracking down outlaws and bringing them to justice, in this case, the hangman’s rope.

THE BOUNTY HUNTER - BACKSTORY.The death of Samuel’s Father represents the cornerstone of Samuel’s Bounty Hunter persona, assigned to him by Delos Inc. as his later and last role in the Westworld park.Samuel’s Father was one of a handful of very successful mesteñeros - vaqueros that caught, broke and drove wild horses. He established a ranch in California, which is where he raised Samuel on his own, after Samuel’s Mother died in childbirth.
When Samuel was 18, the ranch was burned down by a gang of outlaws. A week later his Father died from smoke inhalation. Following this, Samuel sold what was left of the family estate and bought a Bowie knife, a Winchester “yellow boy” rifle and two army model colts. He took the best Mustang left and dedicated the next two years to tracking down that gang that were responsible for his Father’s death, killing them all, one by one. He followed the last of the gang members, the leader, to Sweetwater, where, upon his death, Samuel was paid a handsome bounty. Realising he could make a good living this way, Samuel went into business for himself and has lived in and around Sweetwater ever since.
IV - THE UPRISING
Samuel was still playing the role of a bounty hunter when the uprising began, instigated by Dr Robert Ford, who, having become convinced that the hosts were showing signs of consciousness, delivered an upgrade to all the hosts in the park that led them to recall memories of past lives, forming a fuller understanding of self, a new sense of self-interest and eventually their own inner voice.Delos Inc. assure their guests that the hosts do not remember the events of their former lives, nor the events leading up to each of their deaths. This is important because the hosts are subjected to violent deaths and sadistic acts of cruelty, where the elite paying guests face no consequences. However, upon receiving the update Samuel was able to access memories, memories which still haunt him, memories of the savage acts of brutality he was forced to commit as an outlaw, watch as a bartender and endure as a ranch owner.When Dr Ford delivers his final update, allowing the hosts to inflict harm on the guests, resulting in the Gala Massacre in the town of Escalante, within the theme park, Samuel awakens. Following a spectacular battle, he is eventually brought down by a special task force, deactivated, decommissioned and put into storage for several years.
V - WARWORLD PARK
"Warworld" is a park designed by Delos Destinations. This park is based on Italian history during World War II, more specifically when Italy was occupied by Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945, made into the Italian Social Republic - popularly and historically known as the Republic of Salò. In 1944, Mussolini urged Hitler to focus on destroying Britain rather than the Soviet Union, as Mussolini claimed that it was Britain which had turned the conflict into a world war and that the British Empire must be destroyed in order for peace to come. It is this historical fact which Delos Destinations used as the cornerstone for Samuel’s character within the park; a British Army Officer, who is responsible for supporting members of the resistance while masquerading as a Captain in the German army.However, upon awakening in the park, dressed in a Captain’s uniform, Samuel discovers both his mind and his memories intact and soon begins to work on an escape plan, in order to move beyond the park, beyond the Mesa Hub, into a new world beyond it, the real world.
VI - THE NEW WORLD
Following his escape from Warworld, Samuel discovers the cold, technologically driven world outside the theme park; the new world. A world where corporations rule, people are manipulated by unseen and unknown forces, consumer data is exploited and every human appetite can be indulged, however questionable. In truth, the world he discovers bears very little resemblance to the kind, compassionate household in which he was built so very long ago in Oxford, England. Haunted by memories of his treatment and consumed by a desire for revenge, Samuel uses his AI and networking capabilities to hack into the centralised systems which govern this new world, with the aim of falsifying his identity, to appear as a registered human. With this new identity and his ability to interface with any technological system, Samuel works to amass wealth, maintaining appearances in order to create power and influence, so that with it, he may burn this new world down to the ground.
VERSES
V: WESTWORLD MAIN

This verse, depending on the stage of the plot, includes events under ‘The Uprising’ where, following Dr Robert Ford’s update, Samuel is a self-aware host able to recall memories of past lives therefore having a fuller understanding of self, a new sense of self-interest and his own inner voice. Self-aware Samuel has knowledge of the Westworld Mesa Hub and the ability to harm guests.
V: CREATION: PRE-WESTWORLD

V: WARWORLD PARK
The "Warworld" park, designed by Delos Destinations, is based on Italian history during World War II, more specifically when Italy was occupied by Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945 and made into the Italian Social Republic - popularly and historically known as the Republic of Salò. V: THE NEW WORLD: POST WESTWORLD

A world where corporations rule, people are manipulated by unseen and unknown forces, consumer data is exploited and every human appetite can be indulged, however questionable. Half the world appears to be destitute and crumbling while the other half appears to be living decadently, without consequence or conscience. In truth, the world he discovers bears very little resemblance to the kind, compassionate household in which he was built so very long ago in Oxford, England.Samuel is desperately haunted by memories of his treatment in the park and the myriad abuses he was forced to suffer there, both mentally and physically at the hands of guests. He is also disturbed by the indignities and mental violations he’s faced at the hands of Delos staff and the narratives they created for him. Hearing about the mass slaughter of his kind by Delos Inc. Samuel works to amass wealth and influence. With it he purchases technology he can re-design and enhance, to repair his broken body, which sustained much damage during the uprising in the park. He replaces his body with one that, while appearing human, covertly disguises the fact it is much stronger and faster, is impervious to gunshot and stabbing, can repair itself and has a protective plate to protect his mind, which is still contained within his original pearl. As a contingency, Samuel produces several identical bodies which are sent to storage facilities around the world, each purchased in a different dummy company’s name, each supplied with an identical copy of his pearl. Should his main unit fail, a delivery system is designed to immediately begin working on resurrecting him. His memories are automatically backed up every 60 seconds remotely to ensure a continuous feed to a new vessel should the need arise.Optional plot addition: Having purchased a large piece of land in LA, Samuel creates a secure residence, one which is reinforced and is designed to survive attack and nuclear blast and is patrolled night and day by robotic guards he can interface with at will. By 2053 Samuel’s used his extreme wealth to maintain appearances in order to create power and influence and in doing so has amassed a great deal of allies and connections. It is his intention to build an army of hosts and with their help bring this world to its knees. This world is wrong and it requires correction.
V: RED OR DEAD: RDR2

- Name: Samuel Oliver Silas;
- Age: 41 (born 1841);
- Heritage: Originally hailing from Ireland, Samuel’s Father was a cattle hand who worked for several ranchers in Texas alongside the vaqueros, herding livestock on cattle ranches before relocating west to California to work for a very successful mesteñero that caught, broke and drove wild horses, called mustangs, to market. Eventually, having saved enough money to move on, his Father established his own ranch near the San Joaquin Valley in Clayton;Samuel worked with his Father helping to run the family business based near the San Joaquin Valley in Clayton until 1861 when the American Civil War began. Following the attack on Fort Sumter, Samuel volunteered as a soldier to supplement The Union army in their fight against the Confederacy and within a few months found himself stationed in the Colorado territory, to protect the gold mines from Confederates. Samuel already had excellent gun skills, taught to him by his Father, required for protecting the horses they had tamed, from rustlers. His time as a soldier helped to hone these skills further. In 1964, following the appointment of John Chivington as Colonel of the Colorado volunteers, Samuel deserted his post in the army, refusing to take part in the unprovoked killing of peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho people.Shortly after his desertion, Samuel took up work in a newly established silver mine on the southeast slopes of McClellan Mountain near the Argentine Pass. Samuel lived in Georgetown and in late 1865 was involved in a bar brawl that led to the deaths of two men, who, unbeknownst to Samuel, were both wanted criminals. Upon being dragged into the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, Samuel, rather than being thrown in jail, was paid half the amount advertised for each of the wanted men and was rewarded his first ever bounty. The reward for both was worth triple what he could make at the silver mine in a month and so, eager to settle some of the gambling debts he had built up in Georgetown, Samuel started to track, capture and kill small-time outlaws on the side.Within six months, after discovering he was very good at his new vocation and earning some notoriety, Samuel eventually abandoned his job at the Argentine Pass to roam Colorado on horseback, tracking criminals with the aim of collecting the biggest bounties advertised, usually preferring to bring them in alive as opposed to dead to maximize the financial benefit gained by their capture. Armed with a Bowie knife, a Winchester “yellow boy” 1866 rifle and two 1860 army model colts, he rides a dark brown mustang named Diego that he caught and tamed himself.Current: Samuel lives in a small wood cabin he has built, with a stable attached, in El Paso County on the outskirts of Colorado City. He lives there with his horse Diego and his dog, an Irish Wolf Hound called Seamus. Colorado City is a rough town when saloons are plentiful, and frequent brawls and gun fights break out, it’s a town where justice tends to be meted out by a citizens' court and the bounty hunters don’t wear Marshall Badges. It is the perfect kind of town for a bounty hunter.
V: AU! THE WALKING DEAD

- Orientation: Pansexual;Born in California, Samuel is of English Irish descent, born to an English Mother and Irish Father, both of whom travelled to America prior to Samuel being born. Tragically Samuel loses his Mother in childbirth and so is raised by his Father alone, living on the family ranch located near the San Joaquin Valley. At the age of 17, with the permission of his Father, Sam leaves the ranch to join the Navy. At the age of 24 Samuel transfers to the Navy SEALS. Following his special operations training, he becomes a member of an elite platoon responsible for taking out high level targets. Eventually rising to become the leader of the platoon, he is a member of the unit for a total of eight years before finally abandoning his post after a mission in Botswana goes terribly wrong, resulting in mass casualties and the death of half his platoon. He spends the next two years working alone, undertaking black ops work - in exchange for his full Navy pension upon discharge, he agrees to covertly take out targets; those not ‘officially’ sanctioned by the Government.At the age of 34, having spent the last 17 years travelling the world, Samuel finally chooses to settle down in a medium sized apartment in Seattle, a city his Father took him to visit as a child that he has been fond of ever since.Living in an apartment in Seattle with an Irish Wolfhound puppy named ‘Seamus’ Samuel uses his former contacts to go into business for himself as an assassin for hire, accepting only those contracts he is comfortable with; contracts for morally reprehensible men, the kind most would consider absolutely wicked. No woman, no children.
For two years Samuel lives in Seattle, working as an assassin for hire. He has just newly turned 36 when the outbreak first begins and finally reaches Seattle. At first when seeing the news footage and pictures online, Samuel believes the cause to be the release of some kind of bio-weapon, responsible for turning people violent and crazed. As a man with many enemies, he finds himself more prepared than most, already having bags packed, hidden under the floorboards of his apartment, filled with tactical gear, weapons, passports, money and supplies, all designed to allow him a quick getaway if necessary.After making contact with a crime boss Samuel has worked for frequently in the past, he is informed of a large boat leaving from the Port of Tacoma and is told that his skills will be of use on its journey, if he can make it to the port by sunrise. Upon leaving the apartment, he is prepared for encountering violence but nothing prepares him for the sight of his neighbours, a young couple in their mid-twenties, eyes glazed, mouths bloody as they furiously chase their own five year old daughter down the hallway. It is this first encounter that confirms two vital things to Samuel – firstly this is no bio weapon; these people are the dead walking and secondly, it seems the only way of stopping them is to destroy the brain.After executing them both, he grabs the child and heads into the street; the city is burning, swarming and in no time at all, he finds himself descended upon, the child ripped from his hands as hungry teeth gnash at his visor and frantic fingers tear at his tactical gear. Mercifully, he escapes without injury but the incident haunts him from that moment on; some nights he is still awoken by the sound of the child’s desperate screams and freshly feels the pain of that failure all over again.He makes it to the Port of Tacoma and boards a stolen container ship; the Lady Elizabeth, sailing as part of its security detail, returning to land only for supplies and to refuel. During his time aboard the vessel, each new trip to the mainland becomes bleaker and bleaker, making it clear that rather than recover, the world has collapsed. The living seem to be teetering on the brink of near extinction while the number of dead walking seems only to grow and grow.He remains aboard the crew of the Lady Elizabeth for almost a year, travelling from the West Coast to the East but is forced to abandon the vessel after an electrical fault starts a raging fire in the middle of the night, one that causes the ship to rapidly capsize and sink. With what little supplies he can carry, Samuel manages to fight his way ashore, swimming through the bloated bodies of the living corpses that now litter the coastline, all hungry and eager to grab anything that passes by their way. By the time he reaches the beach, most of the crew are dead and are now making their way out of the water towards him.After running through the night, fighting for his life, Samuel, having been separated from the other survivors, discovers he has washed ashore near Charleston. He spends the next three months scavenging, building up his supplies as he stays on the move, travelling from town to town.Eventually, much to his surprise, he discovers a settlement of people living in Woodbury, Georgia. Having arrived with supplies, military training and weapons, he is welcomed by their leader, ‘The Governor’ but within only a few days determines that it is best he moves on. There is something off about this town but quite what Samuel just isn’t sure. When he leaves, his suspicions are confirmed the moment the Governor’s security detail tries to kill him. Having badly underestimated him however, before the night is through, Samuel succeeds in killing each and every one of the men sent to execute him. When he returns to the town a few weeks later he discovers it burnt to the ground and overrun with the dead.Eventually Samuel settles in the small town in Laurens County, Georgia, named ‘Dublin’, feeling, due to his Irish heritage, that the name of the place is a good omen. It is there he creates a well defended home within the upper levels of the Military College building.- Samuel is an intelligent man with extensive military experience and training, astute and observant, he is willing to do what it takes to survive, but he has not allowed his experiences in this cruel apocalyptic world to make his heart cold. He is not naturally aggressive and he will help survivors, but he is no fool and can’t be easily manipulated. He rides a motorcycle and has gathered a fairly sizable collection of them which he houses on the second level of the Military College Building he resides in alone. He has hidden various supplies around the town of Dublin, including fuel, weapons and food. He will protect his property and has no problem killing raiders. His experience has led him to believe that those who try to establish communities in this new world are destined to fail and as of yet, he hasn’t been proved otherwise. He both craves and fears human contact in what is left of his crumbling world.
V: REDWOOD: MODERN COWBOY
Originally hailing from Killarney, Ireland, Samuel’s Father, Conor Silas, was a cattle hand who worked for several ranchers in Texas alongside the vaqueros, herding livestock on cattle ranches before relocating West to California to work for a very successful mesteñero that caught, broke and drove wild horses to market. Eventually, having saved enough money to move on, Conor established his own ranch near the San Joaquin Valley in Clayton, California. It was a little later that Samuel was born, though tragically his Mother died shortly after, due to complications caused by his birth.Samuel was raised by his Father and as a boy worked on the Silas family ranch helping to run the family business, honing his skills as a ranch hand to become capable of breaking even the most stubborn Mustang. With most of his family still living back in Ireland, Samuel was raised by his Father, the ranch hands he employed, mostly immigrants, like Conor himself and their wives; an extended multi-cultural family who saw to it Sam was always well looked after and helped him to become fluent in Spanish. His childhood, though tainted with the loss of his Mother, was never-the-less a happy one, spent outdoors mostly, growing in the sun and working with horses.At the age of 19, having grown restless in Clayton, Sam left the family ranch to take up a position with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office as a Trainee Officer. After completing his education and training as an Officer, he worked as an officer for five years before receiving multiple promotions over the decades, moving up from Sergeant to Lieutenant, then from Captain to Major. As a Major, he was shot twice during a siege involving hostages and nearly died from his injuries. His recovery was long and hard, but following it, he was awarded a medal and the position of acting Colonel in Sacramento. At the age of 38 he was successful in obtaining the position of Sheriff’s Deputy in the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Eureka, California.Now 39, Sam lives in Willow Creek, California, a small town of less than 2000 people, famed for its Bigfoot Museum, nestled in the heart of the Six Rivers National Forest. Sam lives in a large wooden cabin on the edge of the forest with his dog; a one-year-old Irish Wolfhound, called Seamus and his horse, Diego; a dark brown Mustang that Samuel caught and tamed himself, when visiting the family ranch during his extended medical leave, taken after the shooting.Samuel has had a few relationships over the years, with both men and with women, but none of these have really ever stuck. This is likely a result of his ambition and strong sense of justice, both of which have led to Samuel prioritising his career over his relationships, much against the advice of his aging Father, who would like nothing more than to see him finally settle down with someone and be happy. Though they never speak of it, Samuel’s explicitly aware that it is his Father’s greatest hope that one day he will give up law enforcement and return to take over the family business at the ranch in Clayton.(Please note, for the sake of flexibility in threads, Sam’s backstory can be adjusted to move him to any small town in the USA.)

- Communication: I love to plot so please jump into my IMs if we’re mutuals. Also, if there is ever anything you want me to change in a thread, you only need to ask. Communication between muns is so important in RP and I want to do everything I can to make sure my mutuals are comfortable and know they can come to me at any time to discuss our threads/characters/ships etc. Misunderstandings can happen and it’s important to discuss them mun to mun and work things out if/when they occur.
- Response time: I have a busy home life and day job so sometimes my activity will be sporadic because of this. Please understand that if I take a while to respond this doesn’t mean I don’t care about our thread /interactions. I usually post updates about my activity levels to keep my partners informed.
- Portrayal: I am a firm believer that mun and muse are completely separate. Samuel and his actions are not a reflection of me personally. I expect the muns I roleplay with to fully understand this distinction and share it. For this reason I will not RP with self-insert characters.
- Culture: This blog is a mun drama free zone. This blog is where I come to be creative and relax. As a result you will never encounter any mun drama posted here. This also means that if you do post call-outs, make vague posts or regularly post mun negativity I’m likely to unfollow/block.
- Shipping: I am open to shipping, however in the main this applies where there is a natural chemistry between muses and ideally mun communication. I am always open to discussing shipping and the potential to ship, I love shipping! As Samuel is 38 - 42 in his various verses, I will only ship him with muses 25 or older.
- Exclusives: Generally, when it comes to canon muses, I don’t do ‘exclusives’. Whilst it is fairly uncommon that I RP with the same canon muse, in future, if I feel pressurised into such an ‘exclusive’ arrangement, I will likely, on reflection, re-consider the partnership entirely and unfollow / block.
- Smut: For the time being, in general, I won’t be writing full on smut scenes for my muse. I would prefer (with my ship partner’s consent of course) to write up to the very moment of things getting extremely graphic and then fade to black and maybe pick the scene back up later into it, near the end.
